Do you believe in magic? I do.
Do you believe in the magic that happens when you meet the right person? Everything they say lands somewhere soft in you, and it feels so easy that you can't quite explain it, even to yourself.
Do you believe in the magic of a special night where you get lost in the feelings or sensations? Time feels different, and you stop narrating everything in your head and just feel.
Do you believe in a scene that goes so well you can't think about anything else in the world? Just you and whoever you're with (or just you), and whatever is happening right now.
Do you remember a moment where you decided to stick to your tasks, and you were doing so well you felt on top of the world? A really good week or just a really good day.
I think those four are the same magic in different shapes. Each of those situations feels that good because it makes you go fully into your body: the action that you are carrying out, the words you're saying, the emotions that are happening inside of you. So for a while, you get to just be and experience life as it is.
And we are not always in that magical space. We can't be.
Most days are work and laundry and figuring out what's for dinner. That's just our brain doing its job, keeping us safe.
But when we get to feel that magic, oh boy, does it feel special.
It feels like a little mystical part of you, the one that likes to do cartwheels and dance with your eyes closed, is just feeling and experiencing life. It stops planning and judging and checking how it looks from the outside, and just shows up, awake, having the best time.
For me, all those things happened with Rob, and SubTasks feels like it was created out of that magic. Of course, we also get lost in the everyday of running an app and sometimes we forget to remember that feeling.
But when you reconnect with that magic, you believe with all your being that everything is good.
That you are good.
And that's why it's worth paying attention to those moments. You can't hold on to them and you can't schedule them. But you can let yourself be in them all the way, and remember afterwards that they were real, and that they're in you somewhere, even on the laundry days.
Remember afterwards that it was real
One of the prompts in our BDSM journaling prompts is "Was there a moment where you felt completely present?" Writing it down is how you keep proof that the magic happened, especially on the laundry days.

The other side of the magic
After a night or a scene where everything felt good, the comedown can hit hard. Sub drop and Dom drop are normal body chemistry, they happen to Doms too, and there are ways to soften them.
